As Miriam, Sienna and I prepare for overseas mission to Madagascar, it seemed fitting to regularly record and document key events. Not for posterity's sake (I would not be so narcissistic). Instead, we want this blog to be a way of displaying how God's grand providence is at work in the world and in our lives. Miriam and I already can testify to this through the singular circumstances that lead us to embark on this venture. We arrived at the prospect of overseas mission in completely different circumstances, and our call to Africa by God is interwoven with the beginning of our relationship, happy marriage and the birth of Sienna. We trust that Christ remains our faithful Captain as we head on to the next step of his leading. So we hope that these posts bear witness to God's glorious greatness.

Throughout the course of this blog, we hope to share with you what we are currently doing, how God is equipping us for our future role and how his mission is being carried out in Madagascar. Alongside our personal reflections, other areas of interest may make their way onto the blog. Madagascar has a rich Christian history that we would love to share with you, as well as insights gained from our devotional/theological reflections and, of course, requests for prayer. God willing, when we arrive in Madagascar, we hope to share some of our discoveries of culture

Finally, we'd like to conclude with a bible verse that God has repeatedly spoken to us through:

"The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." [Isaiah 58:11]

May this be our maxim in Madagascar, our hope to rely on in times of abundance and times of trials.
